1. Who we are

This privacy notice covers Kernow Septic Services, an independent information site about septic tank emptying and maintenance in Cornwall, operating at septictankcornwall.co.uk. The site is run by Tally Digital Ltd, which is the data controller for the personal data described below.

Contact: hello@septictankcornwall.co.uk.

2. What personal data we collect

  • From the introduction form: your name, email address, phone number (optional), postcode, the type of work, how urgent it is, and your consent to be introduced to a septic tank firm. The compliance-checklist form asks for the same contact details and consent.
  • From email correspondence: whatever you choose to include in your messages.
  • Automatically via Google Analytics (only if you accept cookies): anonymised browsing data such as pages visited, time on site, approximate location (city-level) and device type. No personally identifying information is collected by Analytics.

3. How we use your data

  • To introduce you to one local septic tank firm covering your postcode, if we have one and you ticked the consent box. Before we share your details, we tell you who they are.
  • To reply to you with confirmation, follow-up, or clarifying questions.
  • To keep basic records of enquiries and introductions made.
  • To understand site usage (anonymised analytics only, with your consent).

Septic tank firms we introduce you to may pay us a fee for the introduction. We only share your details with a septic tank firm if you ticked the consent box on the form, and we don't send marketing email.

4. Lawful basis

  • Consent: when you tick the consent box and submit the form, you agree to us sharing your details with one local septic tank firm covering your postcode. You can withdraw that consent at any time by replying to any email from us or writing to hello@septictankcornwall.co.uk.
  • Legitimate interests: for keeping records of enquiries and introductions, and responding to you.
  • Consent (cookies): for analytics cookies, only after you accept via the cookie banner.

5. Who we share your data with

  • One septic tank firm, if you ask for an introduction and tick the consent box: we share your name, contact details, postcode, the type of work and how urgent it is with one firm covering your area, and we tell you who first. They become a separate data controller at that point.
  • Brevo (transactional email provider): used to send confirmation and notification emails. They process email content briefly to deliver it. Brevo privacy policy.
  • n8n (form backend): self-hosted on our own server; receives form submissions and routes them. No third-party processor in this step.
  • Cloudflare (CDN and Turnstile bot protection): processes IP addresses and browser signals to filter spam submissions. Cloudflare privacy policy.
  • Google Analytics (anonymised, consent-based). Google privacy policy.

6. Cookies and analytics

This site uses only Google Analytics for site usage measurement, and it is blocked until you accept cookies via the consent banner. If you decline, no analytics data is collected. You can revoke consent at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this domain. There are no advertising cookies or affiliate links on this site.

The forms use Cloudflare Turnstile for bot protection. It is required for the forms to work and does not track you across sites.

7. How long we keep your data

  • Introduction requests: retained for up to 24 months, then deleted. Ask us and we'll delete yours sooner.
  • Email correspondence: retained for up to 24 months, then deleted.
  • Analytics data: 14 months default retention in Google Analytics, anonymised.

8. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification: ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Erasure ("right to be forgotten"): ask us to delete your data, subject to legitimate exceptions
  • Restriction: ask us to limit how we use your data
  • Objection: object to specific uses of your data
  • Portability: receive your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time where consent is the lawful basis

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@septictankcornwall.co.uk. We'll respond within one month.

9. Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO):
